Natural stone prices in Morocco: what makes them vary

There is no single price for natural stone in Morocco: the price per m² changes with the stone, the finish, the thickness, the quantity and the delivery distance. Two projects with the same surface can therefore get very different quotes.

For individuals and professionals alike, understanding these factors helps you compare quotes properly, avoid surprises and adjust your budget without sacrificing the result. Here is what really makes the price vary, and how to get an accurate quote.

The five factors that make the price vary

1. The type of stone

Beige or grey Taza, marble, sandstone, limestone or slate: each stone has its own rarity, extraction difficulty and demand. A local stone such as Taza stone does not cost the same as a veined black marble that is worked and polished.

2. The finish

The finish is one of the biggest levers. Raw or split-face stone takes less work than bush-hammered, aged or polished stone. The more the surface is worked, the more workshop time it takes, and the higher the price.

3. Dimensions and thickness

Slabs in standard sizes are simpler to prepare than made-to-measure pieces. A greater thickness also uses more material and weighs more, which affects transport.

4. Quantity

The ordered volume matters: a large facade is not prepared like a few square metres of cladding. Ordering the right quantity from the start, with a margin for cuts, also avoids a second supply whose shade could differ slightly.

5. Delivery

The distance between Taza and your site, the total weight and site access all affect transport cost. Delivery to Taza does not cost the same as delivery to Casablanca or Rabat.

And installation

Installation is a separate item: it depends on the surface, the substrate (concrete, brick, block), the height of the site and the type of stone. It can be carried out on request, so mention it when you ask for a quote.

1. A photo of the project or of the model you are looking for (facade, wall, pool, garden).
2. The measurements, or at least the approximate surface to cover.
